This essay details the events that led to his initial experience with LSD as well as how that initial encounter proved to be a seminal experience in his life, changed his mind, and shaped his career path. At the time of renewed awareness and, possibly, acceptance of the application of psychedelics in our culture, I have been provided an incentive for revisiting my own psychedelic experiences. For over 50 years, I have periodically reflected on my experiences with LSD since they were so transformative. But for me, it meant once again reflecting on those life-changing experiences that not only changed my mind, but also shaped the trajectory of my life and my career. Now at the age of 70 years, I find myself at the end of my career if not my life as well although the light at the end of that tunnel is at least metaphorically looming closer as well.
