Some of our students have Word and some have It's not easy for these students to learn in in the lab and try to do the same thing at home with or , so beginning in Sept. This book has over pages but the information seems to be very well organized and easy to understand. The instructions are easy to follow and the program is very similar to Word, those not necessarily presented in the same manner.
From what I've observed so far, it seems to be a good alternative for Microsoft Word. This book, along with another one on OpenOffice, was purchased through Amazon. A mediocre book about a mediocre product. Word on a bad day is far better. Ever since i started to use [ I like the diversified approach that is used. Not only that it is open source, and open document format, but also that it has a lot of features that Microsoft Word does not include, or do not have to offer.
In most cases the export side works well also. This manual is well written, for both the newbie to OpenOffice and to the experienced person who has used other word processing programs.
