Include one picture, and upload to Googe classroom. Students create travel brochures or posters that advertise vacations on other planets. Students write a legend based upon three real objects from their Astronomy Vocabulary Worksheet, four to five well-constructed paragraphs, with at least three images, uploaded to Google Classroom. Students devise a procedure that asks a question, shows research, states a hypothesis about whether they believe the question can be answered yes or no, states an experiment to prove or disprove the hypothesis, analyzes the results of the experiment, and makes a conclusion about whether the hypothesis was correct or incorrect.

Students create a poster that includes a picture and a one-sentence explanation of each of the models of science, including physical, conceptual, mathematical, and computer.

Preteens and teens do better in school when parents are involved in their academic lives. Attending back-to-school night at the start of the school year is a great way to get to know your child's teachers and their expectations. School administrators may discuss school-wide programs and policies, too. Attending parent-teacher conferences is another way to stay informed. These may be held once or twice a year at progress reporting periods. Many middle schools, however, only set up parent-teacher conferences if parental involvement is needed to address issues like behavior problems, falling below grade-level expectations, or alternatively, benefiting from advanced class work. If your child has special learning or behavioral needs, meetings can be scheduled with teachers and other school staff to consider setting up or revising individualized education plans IEPs , education plans , or gifted education plans. With this new structure, students must be more aware of their own schedules and belongings than they ever were in elementary school.
