Tests — tests are given after units are completed. Students will be given A. Students should expect at least four full-period tests per marking period. Quizzes — quizzes are given frequently as key concepts are learned. They may test vocabulary or problem-solving skills. Some are not announced ahead of time. Many quizzes will be based directly on the homework objectives. Homework — homework is assigned every Monday.
Usually there will be three written assignments. There is always reading to be done. Students should review their notes every night. Homework detention may be assigned to any student who does not complete homework when due. Classwork — Students are expected to bring their iPads, notebook binders and something to write with to class each day. When the bell rings to start the class, students should be sitting at their desk with their notebooks open, ready for work!
No food or drink will be allowed in the classroom. Bottled water is fine. Students should not bring electronic devices of any type into class, with the exception of non-programmable calculators and iPads. If the student accumulates three unexcused latenesses, they have cut the class and normal cut procedures parental notification and A.
